-Kyle Bain, Bain’s Film Reviews
"Darcine's Day is a very powerful and well done short that takes the viewer along in a day in the life of a struggling young woman, Darcine. This film was beautifully filmed and well shot. This great cinematography made the visual story just as interesting as the actual story. This film also was very well directed. You can tell the director has excellent storytelling abilities as well as a clear and sharp eye for detail. This combination produced a short that was riveting to watch - right up to the very shocking and sad ending. However, in my opinion, the main reason the film worked so well was the excellent performance that was delivered by the actress portraying Darcine. She managed to make the viewer believe she was Darcine. Her portrayal of this character felt natural and real, and as a result the viewer felt and experienced what she went through- from her disappointment and anger at her job interview to the frustration on not being able to find housing to the humility and helplessness in the final scene. I ended up rooting for her throughout the film thanks to the connection the actress made with the viewer. Job well done."

“If … Darcine’s Day is a proof of concept for a major film, the filmmakers have made a successful and convincing argument for something much bigger….we are left …clamoring to know what happens next with Darcine…”.
